ELISABETH JEFFREY
Elisabeth Jeffrey started her classical training under the tutelage of Carlos Cornel Stroia in Minnesota at the age of seven. She went on to train at the Joffrey Ballet School under a full merit scholarship when she was fourteen. During her years there, she attended workshops with schools such as that of American Ballet Theater, Houston Ballet School, Washington Ballet School, and Royal Ballet School of Covent Garden. She also performed with Arts Umbrella Dance Company in Vancouver, Canada, and Peter Pucci Plus Dancers at City Center, in NYC.
Upon graduation she began her professional career. She is a current company member of Periapsis Music & Dance, Thomas Ortiz Dance, Yoo and Dancers, and a returning guest with CONNetic Dance. She has also danced for Benjamin Briones Ballet, Emotions Physical Theatre, AS Arts NYC, and independent choreographers Ursula Verduzco, Erin Dillon, Juan Michael Porter II, Leigh Schanfein, Royce Zachery, Norbert De La Cruz III, and Annalen Traylor. She has appeared at theaters such as City Center, Lincoln Center, The Joyce - Soho, Symphony Space, Skirball Center for the Performing Arts, Ailey Citigroup Theater, Purchase College Performing Arts Center, 92Y, the Secret Theater, and Dixon Place. She has performed classical roles in The Nutcracker, Raymonda, Le Corsaire, Swan Lake, Serenade (George Balenchine), Samsera (Margo Sappington), Birthday Variations (Gerald Arpino), Billboards Willing and Able (Peter Pucci), Kettentanz (Gerald Arpino), and Capriccious (Trinette Singleton).
Elisabeth is the rehearsal director of Periapsis Music and Dance, and has also enjoyed leading their auditions as well as Emotions Physical Theatre's workshops. She has also taught company classes for Benjamin Briones Ballet, and is a supplementary teacher for Greenwich House of Music School (NJ), Andrea's Dance Studio (BX), and Logrea Dance Academy (NY). Elisabeth also enjoys teaching and being a part of NYC Community Ballet.
